About

Wendel Livestock is located just outside the James River Valley in southeast North Dakota near LaMoure.

Mike and Shari Wendel own and operate a herd of 200 registered seedstock Angus females. The females are all held to high standards to be efficient, breed back year after year, stay sound and produce high performance calves that excel in pounds and carcass quality.

We don't make excuses for our females and no cow is to good to be culled. The cows calve in a 60 day period. All cows are passed over AI and embryo transplant is continually used to expand our top quality proven female numbers. We develop our bulls to be hardened for service and longevity.

All bulls are performance tested and bred to add extra pounds and carcass premiums efficiently. Overfeeding breeding cattle does not benefit us or our customers. We retain and feed all of our steer calves to finish. Our cattle are fed like our commercial customers cattle with controlled inputs to maximize profit.

Our annual sale consists of 60 bulls and 60 replacement females and is held the 2nd Monday in May at the ranch.

Please call Mike with any questions about our operation and visitors are always welcome!
